Our MissionThe Committee on Reverse Engineering and Reengineering (RER) promotes technologies for the examination of existing systems and approaches for reengineering of software systems. RER covers a wide range of topics, including program understanding, restructuring, language translation, data reengineering, system migration, business process reengineering, as well as applications to maintenance, reuse, testing, and documentation. RER co-sponsors the Working Conference on Reverse Engineering (WCRE) and has prompted significant growth in both research papers and industrial exchange on these topics.
IntroductionHello and welcome to this website for the Committee on Reverse Engineering and Reengineering (RER). Many of you may remember the hardcopy newsletter that was published by TCSE with colored sections for each of the Committees. Well, we've now entered the age of the Internet and the World Wide Web. Our plans are to publish the RER newsletter every few months. But only if sufficient numbers of quality articles are submitted. We want this to be a means for communicating between groups working on Software Reverse Engineering and Reengineering. So it's up to you to help make this effort a success. Let us know what you think. This is, after all, your website.
What's New?New websites with articles and information on software reengineering will be added to the TCSE RER website as we become aware of them and have a chance to review such websites.
